Pros

The work is interesting and important. There is extensive training and great opportunities for professional development. The physical atmosphere of the campus is hard to beat - the buildings are beautiful and creative, and most people have a private or shared office. My colleagues were all very nice, hard-working, and competent. The cafeteria food is wonderful. The pay is competitive and there are opportunities for substantial raises, even after the first year.

Cons

I found it difficult to have a good work-life-balance, and I know that other former employees have felt the same way.

Pros

Healthcare IT is a great field right now. Epic is a solid company giving good experience to recent grads. I learned a lot about how to manage projects, as well as about the industry. Overall, I was treated well and had good work/life balance. My managers were great and very supportive.

Cons

It is a quickly growing company that still thinks it is small. Epic needs more of a structure in order to allow career growth for its employees. I think there are a few reasons why people leave: 1) Epic was a place they knew they would never stay - just came to get a couple years experience. 2) Not strong enough management, leading to overworked employees who do not feel represented. TLs are over worked and do not have the experience or training to be making the decisions they are making.
