Epic is a great short-term job, but be aware what you're getting into.

Experience, networking and travel. Great place to work if you're fresh out of school and don't know what you want to do, or want to take a few years off.

Cons

hours, pay, and room for advancement. Amounts of work and expectations for each employee are unreasonable. constant expectation for doing more with less support. complete lack of transparency about salary calculations, advancement, and job security/performance review.

Pros

The money and benefits are good, but they aren't worth it.

Cons

You can see the ratings I gave - working at Epic systems for even a short period of time you learn to keep your mouth shut and not criticize anything about the company, so I'm not about to start here. I just want to see what others said.

Pros

After working here for 5 years, you get a one-month sabbatical that Epic helps you pay for. Nice environment/building.

Cons

There's no opportunity for advancement aside from becoming a team leader. It's sort of a dead-end job. Also, I have no clue how they choose who they hire. Some people they hire are under qualified and I know for a fact that better people apply. They seem to turn away very qualified people and ask for employees to refer friends all the time but usually reject them in the long run.
