-Complete and utter lack of transparency from upper leadership in regards to salary/compensation, and recently company-wide policies related to COVID. Team Leads barely have more information than their team members, so they are forced to regurgitate "company culture" rather than actually help their team members
-Response to race issues at Epic, in the Madison area, and in the world has been abysmal. President Carl Dvorak sent an email to employee resource groups of color telling them not to dissent with company decisions, and has not apologized or acknowledged this completely inappropriate action. No one else in leadership has attempted to apologize on his behalf or take any sort of action regarding his communication with employees. It seems upper management is completely untouchable and not held accountable for their actions. At a public company, he would have been forced to resign already.
-Salary and compensation is a black box that not even your manager is allowed to know about. We are actively told not to share salaries with one another, and are not privy to how our compensation relates to performance. In general, we are just told that "Epic pays better than average", so we don't ask questions.
-No option to work from home at all normally, and all employees being forced to come back to campus much sooner than any other big corporation. Employees will be forced to return in "phases" beginning July 13, despite massive employee outcry about health and safety concerns. There is also evidence that employees are still productive at home, so there is no immediate need to put 8,000+ employees back on campus together. This puts Epic and the local community at great risk, which a healthcare company should be embarrassed to be doing.
-Paid parental leave policy is an embarrassment to a female led corporation that can do way better.
