Pros

-Coworkers are exceptionally smart and talented -Lots of variety in work and a lot of freedom to do the right things on projects (very little micromanaging) -I can directly see the impact my job and actions have on a client and sometimes on the industry. -Develop great, rewarding relationships with clients and coworkers -The software is actually top notch - it's easy to work with a product you know is the best in the industry -Great pay and raises

Cons

-Inflexible work arrangements. Working from home is still very frowned upon and it's virtually impossible to live outside of Madison even though most people relocate for the job straight out of college and want to move as they age (and come on, it's absolutely possible to do this job elsewhere) -Family leave policy is a joke compared to other tech companies. It's just window dressing to make people think they're supportive of families and an ineffective attempt to quiet an uprising. -Only the loud and the favorites get recognized -Senior management just doesn't care about retaining talent. It's cheaper and easier for them to hire 2 new kids fresh out of college and try to train them than it is to give someone who's been around 10 years what they want to keep them (even though the #1 thing the clients ask for is someone with knowledge and experience to guide them)

Pros

- You are given lots of training and then immediate responsibility so you learn and grow a lot very quickly. - I traveled to some really cool places - Pay and bonuses are good, especially since most people are very early in their careers

Cons

- I worked 60 hours a week minimum and often well in excess of that. Some of my projects were great but a few were so stressful or the customer so mean that they really affected my mental health and happiness - The feedback culture can be really toxic. If you have a good manager they can protect you from the worst of it, but if not it can really be a problem. - There's a huge emphasis on process improvement, which is great in theory but in reality means that they completely change the way you do implementations so often that there's always some part of a project where nobody understands how to do it properly
