Good place to gain experience, poor career opportunities
Pros
Cutting edge technology Good work-life balance The new CEO seems full of good ideas to turn things around with innovative ideas but will struggle if he keeps the current dead weight in management.
Cons
Opportunities to further your career by promotions or moving into other fields (ie engineering into project management) are difficult to do and often takes years to occur. Pay rises are terrible, often less than 1.5% per annum. The hard to come by promotions means that often staff are far more experienced and contribute much more to projects than they should be for their level and pay-grade, resulting in an unconscionable win for a stingy business. Too much management, I worked there 10yrs+ and all I saw management do was regurgitate what higher management told them and rarely add value to the business.
