Pros

Cutting edge industry Interesting and engaging work

Cons

- Unable to retain smartest talent and strongest leaders because salaries are below market and the work environment is generally toxic from the senior-most levels down - Entire company suffers from groupthink and secretiveness—no one shares information - Ericsson’s back office functions are incompetently run, particularly the People, Finance, and Legal functions - it is impossible to find a competent and helpful person who wants to do more than collect a paycheck, which makes for a miserable employee experience - Unless in a customer-facing roles, there are limited promotion prospects unless you are willing to relocate to Sweden - If you work in a support function outside of Sweden, you do the work of the majority of the Company’s back office workforce (who are based in Sweden) for July and August because Swedish law guarantees Swedish residents 4-6+ weeks holiday (straight) - hope you didn’t want to enjoy your summer! - Women are held to materially higher standards than male counterparts and, at least in the Legal Department, are routinely publicly denigrated and screamed at by male management; the toxicity starts at the Executive level and trickles down

Pros

Great colleagues. Cutting edge tech. Good training. Free doc. Subsidised health ins. Overtime is paid.

Cons

Career progression path is non existent. Big boys club at the top. Middle mgt are pawns for them and swedish owners. Terrified of appearing expensive to maintain so don't pay staff as a result. Also terrified of not meeting deadlines so staff development is sacrificed. Constant mixed messages, e.g. We are 100% agile - ah, when it suits". No incentive for young staff to stay. In reality, they spend huge money on training staff for competitors! Need to hire some socially aware people. Too many socially inept (but highly intelligent) people being hired. Not good team people. Need a balance. Yes, these people are super intelligent, but cannot communicate with peers. They constantly patronise high performers at appraisal time with feedback sandwiches and tails of company woe, before justifying lack of pay progression. It's not a 24/7 operation, but increasingly employees are expected to work huge overtime to get badly planned and coordinated projects over the line.

Pros

Forget it. There are none.

Cons

Seriously, just read the negative reviews on here - they are very accurate. It's a terrible working environment with ANCIENT senior engineers who won't train their junior counterparts and USELESS managers who's attitude to everything results in ALL the talent (senior and junior) leaving the company.
