Pros

Staffing industry is a cool industry

Cons

Management in each office is terrible. They don't hire managers, they hire people they like with no experience of working with people. My Manager fired the top performers because she was threatened by them, mostly because the top performers expressed concerns for the company and the manager didn't like to admit her flaws. Benefits are absolutely terrible. They let us know we were switching healthcare 1 week in advance then didn't give us any information on the new plan and just told us to sign up. Also, because of the benefits switch I asked if my current provider would be covered they said yes. I had an appointment with my previous doctor because I was told they were covered. After the appointment my office let me know it wasn't covered and that I'd have to pay out of pocket and it would not count towards my deductible. My Manager did not make business decisions but made decisions based off of her emotions and insecurities. IE- she didn't like people in the office younger than her, so she fired one and refuses to hire younger than her again (illegal much?) My office also promoted drinking on the job. My Manager had suggested that I shut down the office for the last hour to sit at my desk and enjoy a beer. Not very professional. There is no respect for policy and procedures. If my office were to have an I9 audit they would be in BIG trouble. When I left there were at least 20+ people working without verifying they are eligible to work in the US. In the 9 months I worked with Express my boss hired and fired a Sales Representative, 2 Direct Hire Recruiters, 2 Commercial Staffing Consultants, and 2 Intake Specialists. Lastly, my manager fires with NO NOTICE given. No warnings or suggestions on performance. Most of her fires are just because she feels like it, so there's really no way to warn someone. But she fired me, wouldn't give me the reason and still refuses to "go into details" of why I was fired from my first position ever. I met all of my goals-which weren't even in my original job description-and I went over and beyond my call of duty. Though I mentioned concerns for the office the day before and she asked what I suggest she do about a ill-performing co-worker. She didn't like that I suggest that she be fired as she had numerous chances to change.

Pros

Management works well with new employees. They trained me well when I was on-boarding and I got to learn many aspects of the job

Cons

Personal growth within the company is not necessarily clear. Their is a lot of work to do for one position.
