Lots of people who care. Community of franchisee’s who want to work together. Express is a good “bank” for business owners in system.

Cons

Executive leadership lacks innovation. Not a coward thinking company. Processes (sales and operations) out of date.

They lie to you about your salary, paying you a 50% lower base salary than promised, under the guise of it being a training wage for "a couple weeks". They will promise you commissions and profit sharing that they will never pay out. They will promise you a raise is a week or two away dozens of times to string your along for as long as possible, until you finally quit 6 months later. When you complain about it they will ignore you and falsely report your Google reviews even though everything you said is completely factual. They violate labor laws and OH&S laws, even going as far as to do work-safe training on behalf of employees who are too incompetent to pass the test themselves, all so they can make a couple extra thousand dollars. They don't care about the employees who have to work in hazardous spaces not being properly trained and how that puts their lives and the lives of their colleagues at risk. They don't care that they send people who are not certified to operate the equipment they are hired for even though this again could be a massive safety risk. They'll tell you that you're doing an amazing job, never have any criticism, and use the excuse of them "getting the paperwork together" to string you along for 6 months at a 50% lower salary than you were told before being hired. If you decide to be nice and tell them that you are willing to stick around until they find a replacement as I did, they will abuse that and put very little effort in actually hiring a replacement. I ended up having to put resumes on their desks and telling them to interview people after 3 months of inaction. I was coming in to work only because I offered to stay until they find a replacement, but there were many weeks were they didn't even have a job posting up for the position and weeks when they took the posting down to "update it". They'll take almost 3 months to find a replacement despite literally being a staffing agency. And when they do find a replacement, they'll pay them $24 an hour and have you train them, while you're still only making $16 an hour for the same position. I was actually friends with the owners son and have been to his house dozens of times. Him and his dad used that fact in order to manipulate me and take advantage of me, ultimately leading to me working for them for 6 months at $16 an hour. As a business Development and staffing consultant, I was responsible for hiring others for lesser positions than mine that paid more, further rubbing salt into the wound. I was responsible for dealing with company VPs, managing employees, and more, all for the same wage as a fast food worker. I turned down other, higher paying positions because I trusted the business owner and his son to pay me what they had promised. In the end, none of the comissions or profit sharing was paid. The raise I was told I would get in my first month never materialized. When I gave them my notice and said I'd stay until they find a replacement, they made almost no effort to do so, because they knew that keeping me there for as long as possible was going to save them thousands of dollars. My replacement quit soon after, offered them a month notice, but they sent him home that day and then they had the audacity to ask me to come in for a week to help out.

hardly any. can get by with just about any schedule.

Cons

micromanagement, toxic work environment, inefficent/ineffective training, no job security, owner goes through extreme highs and lows, poeple let go with not notice and for no reason and then talked about poorly by owner even though he fails to disclose to an individual themselves why they were let go but will fully disclose all of the details to his team. claims to be a christian but doesn't act like one.
