Pros

Big pay jump if you stay 5 years. Uniform allowances. Can be a good gig if you are in the right department and work group. If you get on as a casual, that is the best position in my particular work group. Tuition reimbursement.

Cons

Huge physical work load. Staffing is all over the place. Sometimes not enough people on shift. Constantly feel overloaded by work due to company piling on more freight, packages, and trucks than the location and staff can handle. Engineers squeeze every second they can out of human resources, doesn't matter to them since they don't have to do the grunt work. Certain long-time supervisors try to "puppet" and "figure head" new managers. High local manager turn over in recent years as well. New local senior manager is less engaging in his employees than the former. Long time employees see the senior manager as unsympathetic. Witnessed hot headed supervisors physically, verbally abuse , bully and threaten employees. For some reason they still have their job. Bottom employees left out of the loop of work group decisions, managers and supervisors frequently meet, make decisions and keep things secret from rest of employees. Most trained, skilled and long-time employees end up doing majority of the work and carrying the load. The less you know how to do, the easier your job is, you have less responsibility, and it doesn't seem to negatively affect your pay either. Assuming more responsibility within your job role does not increase your pay or raises, it's the other way around, if you take on more duties and responsibilities and mess up, it affects your review and pay. Employees reluctant on taking initiative so they don't make mistakes and get in trouble. Shifts are constantly chaotic and stressful. Expected to get your job done, yet take your un-paid breaks at the same time, but often left with too much work to do so. Teamwork is stressed, until a mistake is made, then company likes to single people out, employees point fingers and "throw each other under the bus". Employees trickle off and go home before all the work is done, leaving remaining employees to pick up the slack, management seems very lax about it. Certain employees constantly come to work late and leave early and falsify their time cards. Unsafe work practices is frequent due to poor equipment, company and senior manager too cheap to purchase new equipment and tools despite injuries occurring, resulting in unsafe jimmy-rigging of whatever equipment is kicking around in order to get the job done. This particular location does not follow the FedEx people philosophy so engraved into the US operation.

Pros

Got alot of overtime. Insurance was good and cheap. Can't really think of anything else to say about pros of the company.

Cons

The workload was entirely too high. Impossible to complete the work in your 8 hour day and even with overtime, it was still impossible unless you stayed till 8-9pm, sometimes later. Manager didn't care if you had a child that needed to be picked up a certain time. But she always ran out of the door to pick up her pet dog by 6. I can go on and on.

Pros

Integrity of executive leadership People Service Profit culture and respect of persons Some working flexibility

Cons

Very difficult to advance and grow, many people are frustrated. Structure internal interview process favors those who learn the process over merit and ability. Little incentive to move laterally results in in-breeding in many - not all - departments. Push to broaden management span has decreased management opportunities. Executive leadership has had a history of putting profit above people while stating the opposite. Promised bonus has not been paid at 100% for over ten years. No visibility into the bonus process despite the CFO's video communications, which only results in further questions. People Service Profit culture is lip service with many vps, directors, and managers. Remote working opportunities have been restricted. Many aspects of the culture and working environment are stuck in the 80s and 90s, Nepotism - the chairman's son started at a hard-to-get principal position and is the fastest-rising executive with apparently no competition for positions.
