Pros

Benefits are slightly above average, just as good as all other big companies. They will hire anyone. Good Training Fidelity is a great place for a customer, great products, customer first culture is awesome.

Cons

The office politics are really bad Very high turnover rate, highest in the industry the computer technology is all over the place Fidelity cares way too much about email Surveys. Not much promotion from within The promotions are like little baby steps and often never include a pay increase

Overall I think Fidelity is a great company, the fact that its privately own makes it more immune to market volatility and the year-end bonuses have been fairly consistent

Cons

The promotion process is a complete mystery and it appears to be highly political Once you reach a certain level (director) within IT at least there are no annual market adjustments, so every year you are in theory making less money. Plus there are no catch-up adjustments. When applying to a job at the same level the policy is that you cannot get a salary increase, even if the job is vastly different and within a different business unit. Which means overall you are stuck at your current salary unless you look outside the firm
