      Pros

      Fidelity provide great oppertunities to those willing to put in the effort. Hard and smart work is rewarded with promotions... like most thing in life should be it is what you put in to it. Health benefit are great. The company also encourages employees to complete thier educaiton or to persue advanced educaiton. Work / Life balance is important. Managers understand this balance and work to accomodate request.

      Cons

      Benefits are great but the starting representative and manager pay is average. Company wide career planning is some what lacking. Many career conversations with your manager are limited to your current company.

      Great opportunities if you are a self starter

      Pros

      Good management of the Employer services part of the company meant it was a great place to work in IT. Many opportunities to shine but it required hard work and you need to be a self starter. If you want to gain skills in running projects, managing up or down and overall leadership, FESCo was a wonderful environment.

      Cons

      Other Fidelity business units are not as well managed, if you do not work in a group with good leadership you may have a different experience altogether. Security is tight, you will go through extensive background checks and must adhere to the companies many policies. As with any large company, there is a reasonable amount of red tape and paperwork to get anything done. Internal IT services in this company are particularly inefficient.

      Pros

      Fidelity Investments has a good reputation and cache. Additionally, Fidelity generally uses recent technology and is not way behind the curve in this regard.

      Cons

      Company is downsizing and it is unclear what their future direction may be. In particular, the beaucracy and level of management precludes individual initiative.
