An incredible place to work!

Pros

It really helps that I love what I do, but Fidelity is the best place I've ever worked. Sure, I wish I was paid more, could advance faster, etc. (who wouldn't??), but on a day-to-day basis, I couldn't ask for more. Fidelity has a wonderful company culture. I work in an environment full of professionals, very competent at what they do, and everyone is extremely supportive. Positive feedback is offered much more frequently than any other job I've had. Management is incredible at communicating to employees what is expected of them, helping them when they're struggling, and letting them know how the company is doing. The benefits are pretty good, and the flexibility available to help employees with their work-life balance is nothing short of amazing.

Cons

I can only think of one consistent negative--I've had a few managers who pretty much ignored me or gave me bogus answers when I needed help, but even so it still happens much less of the time than any other job I've held.

Pros

In the time that I worked there, I was most impressed with the management. Opinions were heard, recognition and incentives were given. Everyone seemed to care about what they were doing and the overall development of the team. Opportunities for advancement. There was a general positive attitude in the workplace. Also, decent hours, pay and benefits. Comfortable physical work environment.

Cons

Expected to work overtime when needed, even if that's not your thing. At times, it seemed as though management could play favorites with whom they were looking at for promotion. Good if you were a favorite, bad if not.

Pros

The benefits are great. I have had a long career at Fidelity and been able to develop my knowledge of the 403(b) & 401(k) business. The clients I work with are great. Most of my collegues are top notch. There is a great deal of focus around data security and customer privacy. Fidelity has a strong balance sheet and is convervatively run. I think that senior management is positioning the company to be profitable for the long term, which means that the future will be bright.

Cons

Recently there have been a lot of changes at senior management level. This has caused a great deal of uncertainty about the future of the company. My department was moved from the northeast last year to Texas, and I am not sure what career opportunities will come up in the future. Financial services right is an industry in turmoil. There is another round of layoffs coming in the 1st quarter.
