After 3 years with Fidelity, I can say the micro managing is completely insane. The work culture includes being positive and that's great until it becomes extremely toxic which is every single day. If you are not walking around with a big fake smile plastered on your face the managers will notice and then you'll be painted as a negative person and not a a team player. I've seen this across every single department at Fidelity. The work load was way too much but they have adjusted it but expectations are still very high for terrible pay. The pay is just not even worth the trouble of working at Fidelity. They tell you that you'll have so many opportunities but I've only seen a handful of people make any career movement.

They overhired during the pandemic and they’re doing everything they can to reduce headcount except laying off low performers - resulting in many excellent performers being forced out. Remote workers are being forced back into the office half time or “voluntarily separate”. Layoffs without communication. Zero communication about anything these days. Staff morale is terrible and the first week back to the office was a mess - not enough parking, hundreds parking on the grass. People sitting on the floor in hallways because not enough seats. Insanity.
