Pros

Benefits were great! The profit sharing each year was awesome and after 10 years of employment I had a nice medical fund where they put $3200 a year into.

Cons

When I started at Fidelity it was a great place to work, the culture was amazing, people were celebrated and you felt appreciated for your hard work. However, once Abby took over the company from her father, all that changed. Getting rid of people over 55 was clearly a high priority, everyone was overworked, appreciation went out the window and I felt like just a number. There was no such thing as work life balance. I would not recommend this company to anyone. I left 5 years ago and never looked back. Although I was there for 13 years, I hardly know anyone that still works there from when I was there.

Avoid!

Pros

Good pension Learning days( no meetings, no work)

Cons

Very backward and conservative company. Avoid if you prefer remote work or flexibility regarding the days you work in the office. See 👇🏾 1.Office days are dictated. You need to be in 5 days a month in x week. You can go in any other day in addition to the week u are mandated to be in the office. No exception! 2. You can only work in the country you are employed in. No longer allowing people to work in UK, India etc for at least 20 days 3. Peer review every 3 months. You need to give feedback on each of your team mate every 3 months. U gotta lick them to get a good review from them. 4. Quarterly check in every 3 months. Sigh!

Good Company, Bad People

Pros

Pays well. Great benefits. Willing to make changes to remote style work opportunities.

Cons

Bad management and promotion opportunities for people of color. They claim diversity, equity, and inclusion but privately do not back their public statements. This is a very East Coast mentality that doesn't necessarily work in Texas or other regions of the company. You will not advance with true input if you are black or brown. People stay because of the benefits. Otherwise, a job that you would definitely leave ASAP.
