Pros
Company have good contacts and clients around town. Large company, can give large clients confidence. Some really strong senior staff from which to learn. A good place to build a network of contacts and references. Very Strong Service Delivery capability. World Class Data Centres.
Cons
Managed by spreadsheet, very short term thinking. Lots of bluff and posturing. Management propogate false sense of strengths, merits, capability and positioning to staff and clients even though they know they lack the true depth and capability. This is more of the rule than an exception. Always late to the party with market trends, such as missing most of Oil & Gas growth opportunity in the WA market, similarly the rush to punt Cloud services, but not having house in order in terms of delivery or billing. Similarly late to the party with Mobile and Big Data offerings. Poor growth ambitions, and poor execution strategy, all year by year by year, no discernable long term plan, other than loose ambitions, such as be number 3 player, or offer mobility solutions. Most growth achieved by acquisition. No discernable investment in bolstering capability other than national restructure. Seemingly oblivious to poor morale, many examples of employees delivering above their pay rate, but not rewarded or recognised accordingly. No real staff career development or training, in-house brown-bag sessions offered in lieu of proper investment or training. Forced leave during December.
