Pros

The people (peers) are very friendly and helpful. Some really talented people left (for now). Genuinely used to be a great employer that valued it's people, sadly no more.

Cons

All performance reviews are 'managed' down by HR to a normalised curve, ostensibly to have an excuse to give zero or miserly pay reviews. New business pipeline is falling dramatically (except a few Defence wins) and the company will be in real trouble inside 6 to 8 quarters. Most talent has now left or in the process of leaving (apart from some who are hanging on for pension benefits). Go to market propositions are awful and expensive, Fujitsu are purely left farming existing accounts they have locked in or are picking up very small wins that others leave behind. The senior management team just keep getting rotated, even those who fail year after year, new blood needed. Once you have been in the business 3 years your salary has fallen woefully behind the market place, even if you are exceptional enough to get an Exceeds rating each time. Corporate treacle placed deliberately in people's way to avoid giving out promotions.

Pros

Nice colleagues, ample parking, on site canteen, shuttle bus to town, good selection of training courses to allow for development.

Cons

Management were weak and did not want to take responsibility for their actions. There was no top down support. Low pay, poor pension and bonus.

Pros

Good interesting work to be done, when assigned/ allowed. Minimal supervision of work, trusted to get on with it.

Cons

Psychotic bad tempered managers - this is no exaggeration. I was screamed at more than once for minor transgressions, such as being 5 mins late, while others in the team got away with much more. This is blatant victimisation. Also experienced direct side-lining. Forced to do nothing for months while team I was supposed to be a part of were extremely busy. Cronyism rife - frequently saw other less experienced colleagues promoted to more senior tech. positions/ management, because they were in favour. Over reliance on contractors, to the detriment of permanent staff. Contractors were frequently hired to do work that others, with little to do could do with ease/ minimal handover or training. This appeared to be cronyism again. Lack of promotional/ developmental opportunities for those not part of the in-crowd. Wage rises small and infrequent. Staff performance appraisals seem to be paper ticking exercises. Management did not use these to seriously develop/ progress staff, in my experience. The get-out clause for them seems to be "your development is your responsibility". However if blocked from training or promotion to more interesting teams, while seeing colleagues routinely moved between teams to fill new positions, or promoted to new positions, which were never advertised, this feels extremely unfair.
