Pros

I've been working at G Research as a quant analyst for six months now. It's a great company to work for. The business culture is to strive for excellence and long term goals. People here are collegial, approachable and relaxed, and the work atmosphere feels surprisingly close to an academic environment. Yet there is a productive and entrepreneurial spirit.

Cons

While there is a team-oriented approach to larger-scale methodology, more specific ideas are only shared vertically in the company hierarchy. This policy occasionally slows down one's learning curve a bit. At the same time, it protects the firm's intellectual property, which in the end benefits both the company and its employees.
