Pros

Great team environment and culture.

Cons

Whoever is determining the quotas is clearly out of touch. The c suite must be a mess, because all the changes they're making is driving Gartner's clients away, which the AEs then have to take the hit for. Much of the Business Development team is incompetent. One girl sold one of my assigned accounts Gartner based off a complete lie. She told them they would have access to data that Gartner doesn't even have. They obviously didn't renew, so I then had to take the $130k hit while she faces zero consequences. While I had a great team experience, there is a lot of toxicity in sales.

Bad and Getting Worse

Pros

The company walks the walk when it comes to diversity and inclusion. Great environment for know-it-all types that can consult endlessly and sound convincing. If you have this skillset then you would be an excellent analyst or manager at Gartner.

Cons

Tactical leadership from management is at an all time low. We need fewer "idea people" and more people who can communicate exactly what to do, which is exactly what all the management I interact with is utterly incapable of doing. I have never been in a company where everyone was so unhappy all the time and generally clueless about what we are doing. It seems to get worse every year.

Pros

Well known company with good products that are needed by the market Opportunity to work with and learn about technology professionals.

Cons

Onboarding program is brutal. Weekly testing and an environment of fear that you may be sent home without a job. This boot camp model may be good if right out of college. However they provide the same onboarding for everyone. This was pre pandemic but made me think about quitting 3 days in. The onsite and virtual training is arond the clock not a positive way to welcome people to the organization. The majority of my hiring class was gone from the company in 14 months.
