Pros

Pros: I am not sure if this company can offer anything good.

Cons

I had a terrible experience with their interview process. I mentioned to a friend that I had applied for a position at Gartner. She mentioned applying as well and that they did all stages of interview with her and then said she was not chosen. After a day or so, they reposted the same position. Sure enough, they did exactly the same with me. I believe they are market research for their customers and using candidates for that matter."

Pros

Super smart co-workers, good benefits, fully remote. Great access to technology and travel can be super fun. You will learn a lot and there are great documented processes. It would be a good place to start a career and learn from Gartner for a few years. I did learn a lot while working at Gartner but it not somewhere you can grow a carreer.

Cons

With such a large company it's impossible to make any change or decisions on your own without leadership approval. They are constantly bringing in contractors and then getting rid of people without telling you what's going on. I know people on teams I worked with who were great co-workers who got bad reviews and not merit increases. The amount of travel is intense for those in events. You're super siloed in your team and while working remotely provides a lot of flexibility you are isolated from your teams and everyone is so busy they aren't actually available. The workload is intense, there were periods of time when you end up working 70-80 hour work week. This would not be a good role to be a part of if you have small families. You see that most people in events are in their early 20s for a reason since they burn through people. If you deviate from the "Gartner" way it's frowned upon, There is no room for new ideas or creativity. It's only leadership and Gartner's way and a lot of that is unspoken what those rules are. With the layoffs happening in IT Garnter is having employees in other departments look for other internal roles and giving people poor reviews to get them to look for jobs elsewhere so they don't have to announce that they are doing layoffs since that will affect their stock since they are publicly traded.

Pros

Work with broad group of clients

Cons

It's a glorified call center and event job that is purely volume based. You are expected to 5 roles in one and be an expert in everything with no time to get good at anything. Middle Management are Administrative Assistants that are completely tactical and they are measured on volume so they measure you on volume. Great place to work if you just graduated or are on your road to retirement.
