Pros

You can earn easy commission if your manager assigned easy territory. No matter what you do, you will enjoy your days at Gartner if your manager loves you.

Cons

Well well if anyone reading this expect any work like fair or justice, this is not a place for you. I've watched one manager bullied his team as he wished and they told about the matter to HR when they leave. Nothing happened. One raised an issue via Hot Line. Nothing happened. Every single employees knew what happened but HR and relevant team told him/her it is hard to handle without proper investigation. Seriously I even watched some of them went to mental clinic. This company gives nonsense and ridiculous right to managers to control employees life. Do not expect common sense.

Pros

Good people, strong support system between colleagues at peer level Some opportunities to move between teams as skillset is largely transferable Amazing travel opportunities (pre covid) and world class event delivery Good company benefits and onsite gym

Cons

Actions speak louder than words - corporate mgmt cut staff pay and benefits, before layoff of 50% of worldwide conference division, yet no cuts made by CEO and operating committee to their own $multimillion salaries to protect the staff. Multibillion $ company and publicly it's all about the people, but the reality is far different. Company has made many redundancies and offered a poor package to those in Conferences. Despite the pandemic, payouts to conference team are less than half those given to other divisions. Same for airline travel classes – the business class travel policy does not apply to anyone in conference team and you travel in coach regardless of flight time. Work/life balance is awful. Flexible working is frowned upon due to dated personal opinions by US-heavy management team. Gartner operates a ratings-based professional development approach, but promotions are often down to significant favoritism and there is no clear progression path. Goalposts change constantly, or just disappear completely.
