Pros

Best place to be for a Manager - You get to do high level work like enjoy the scenaries outside the window, gossip and have free lunches/parties. Menial work like talent management, performance appraisal, employee engagement are not the focus for them. Flexibility - Not because they care about "your" work-life balance, but don't want to hamper their own Best in class project managers ("Senior Researchers") - They prepare you to face the worst. Puts a lot of emphasis/effort on breaking peer ("Researcher") morale by finding useless/irrelevant mistakes in deliverable, just to show who is the boss. You get to learn how to bloat in your own false sense of achievement from your PMs and Managers Good Pay and hike - for literally doing nothing (and gaining nothing) (Please note: All this benefits is subject to the Research team only, not sure if other teams offer these or not)

Cons

Nothing i can think of, except - You fall into complacency You learn no new skill You start having false sense of achievement You become unemployable after spending a couple of years here

Pros

There are hardly any pros.

Cons

*People who have no idea about the technology that you work on or the kind of work you are involved in (forget expertise) will be there to discuss your abilities and performance with every other person but you. *People in the management are blindly trusted upon and given preference even if it is crystal clear that they are the culprits. *Favouritism is clearly visible and can be seen in appraisals or promotions.

Toxic Sales Environment

Pros

Benefits are ok. Good resume builder, the name carries weight in the IT industry. Training program is OK, not great. If you are in sales, working from home is usually acceptable.

Cons

THE PAY IS WELL BELOW PAR FOR TECH SALES. Management has no ability to connect with employees. Half the managers are hired because there are no better options, and or they raised their hand at the right time. Half the managers have never produced in an AE role at Gartner and therefore don't garner any respect. More often than not, new AEs will face 10-15% of their inherited book of business cancelling in the first year or two. This poses major issues because it really handcuffs your earning potential. It takes a while to build up your book of business if you are new to a territory. Once you "graduate" from the training program, there is little to no support during your ramp period. From my experience, management picks and chooses the winners/losers based on who they like or to make themselves look better. Overall, if you are in sales, I would avoid this place like the plague.
