Pros

Our hiring process over the years has consistently been exceptional, resulting in the creation of something truly remarkable. I have formed lifelong friendships through Glassdoor. Even after 8 years, I still feel valued, challenged and grateful. The sales culture is strong, smart and gritty (and very lean). Like most places, we've gone through plenty of up and downs but there is no other group of people I'd want to experience this with. Our products are valuable and the comp plan has been motivating (however we do have some work to do this year). Our employee benefits are also best in class. One of the remarkable aspects of Glassdoor is that it encourages individuals to be their authentic selves. Through a variety of trainings and workshops focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion, I have experienced significant personal growth. Glassdoor is not afraid to engage in difficult conversations, and this internal courage has helped me and others evolve into more well-rounded leaders who deeply value authenticity. In many ways, we have set the standard for how companies should demonstrate their commitment to their employees.

Cons

Even after all these years, there are still many elements of our organization that feel like a start-up. In some ways, this is fun but in others, it can be wildly frustrating. While there are tremendous benefits to our partnership with Indeed, we've certainly taken a few steps backward with our processes (like billing/contracting, legal, etc.) Furthermore, many of us are confused about who is actually calling the shots when it comes to our selling motion. Its hard not think that we're losing control of the products and value prop that we played a huge part in building over these last few years.

Thank you for taking the time to provide this thoughtful review and thank you for your eight years of service! Wow! I’m grateful for all that you have contributed to your teams, the Glassdoor business, and our culture. The detail you shared regarding your Glassdoor career experience provides great insight into our unique culture, DEI priorities, growth opportunities, and benefit programs. Giving your perspective to prospective candidates and providing candid feedback about operational challenges is helpful insight. I value your perspective in both the pros and cons sections and your advice. I also welcome your suggestion to spend more time with front-line individuals, especially individuals with greater tenure. Please know, that I hear you and am intentionally making more connections to ensure I’m current on the challenges and opportunities facing our sales team. I also plan to attend as many in-person meetings as possible this year. Though I spend time with many of our Sales and CS individuals and regularly meet with leaders in different settings, a broader, more intentional, and visible approach is needed. Thank you for the suggestion. It is an FY24 priority for me. As I close, I want to again extend my sincere thanks and appreciation for your years of service at Glassdoor. Your transparency and thoughtful review are examples of your focus on making Glassdoor a great place to work. Thank you for remaining engaged and excited. I look forward to connecting soon. Please know my door is always open and you are welcome to schedule time. I’d be delighted to answer questions and listen to your ideas. - Val Roush, VP of Sales & CS
