Pros

I've been at Glassdoor as an Enterprise Account Executive for just over a year now, and I have to say I don't think that I could ever work anywhere else. I've never seen such a genuine focus on transparency and accountability, and I feel empowered to be true to myself. When I first joined my manager told me that "Not everyone will be your type of person, but everyone is a really good person.", and I've come to find that to be true every single day. Anywhere you go there are always miscommunications and frustrations working across different departments and teams, but at the end of the day everyone is seen as a person rather than an obstacle or just a worker. I've never had a situation that I went into assuming best intent and with a genuine attitude where I ever felt that wasn't reciprocated and I wasn't treated with respect. I've made some really close friends working here, and they're some of the most incredible people I've met in my entire life. I'm pretty happy with the pay and benefits, and I'm always finding competitions or incentives that let you bring in some extra $$ outside of just your standard commission check. They approach this in a pretty fair way, and with how much pretty much every member of the sales org continues to succeed, there's very few cases where any rep doesn't make more than their OTE. Paternity leave, fully paid healthcare premiums with a large HSA contribution that's almost as much as my deductible, and a really generous disability leave make me feel incredibly supported and valued. I feel a strong culture of innovation and striving to be better, while at the same time realizing that work is just one part of life. I've had some pretty serious health issues that have been challenging over the past few years, and for the first time I feel incredibly supported and enabled to grow and overachieve despite this. I've also found an incredible focus on career development as well as working on yourself personally and professionally. There's a huge focus on internal promotion and growth, and I'm excited for where things will be at 5 years from now. The last piece that I'll touch on is our amazing senior management. Whether it's the VP of sales being genuinely excited to see you and congratulating you on your last quarter, or someone on the C-suite sharing where we're headed over the next 5 years and carefully considering your questions, I feel incredibly inspired and honored to be a part of the team. Glassdoor is on a mission to do good in the world, and I truly feel like what I'm doing is making a difference.

Cons

You'll find in nearly any sales organization that there are some administrative restrictions and niche ways that sales/quotas are set up, and Glassdoor is no exception. There are more than a few things that you have to get used to, but the grace and support of everyone that you're working with doesn't make it seem like a big deal.

Thank you for taking the time to provide such thoughtful feedback. Hearing that you feel empowered to be your true self makes me so happy. It’s the people and the culture of Glassdoor that truly set us apart and your experience validates our path. We do work hard to find and be good people and though imperfect, strive to give and be our best. Thanks for recognizing this. When I joined Glassdoor some years ago, I was surprised by the level of transparency. It was unlike any company I’d experienced. In fact, it took me a while to acclimate. It can be challenging to work in a company committed to transparency and accountability. Your successes and failures may be side-by-side for all to see. But I learned that we embrace a growth mindset and have permission to make and learn from mistakes. What freedom! It makes us better. Well, it certainly makes me better. Thank you for sharing how we’ve supported your health journey and that our benefits are meeting your needs. --And what a gift to find incredibly talented peers to call friends. There’s nothing better than working at a place with colleagues that you genuinely enjoy. We’re fortunate to have you on our Sales Team! Your attitude is an inspiration. Thank you again for the kind words and the honest feedback around quota. We’ll keep working on this until we get to a win/win/win place. Until then, thank you for working hard for Glassdoor, for shining a light on our amazing team, and for being authentically you. Val Roush, VP of Sales and Customer Success

Pros

My co-workers were incredible people to work alongside, unfortunately that can be said about any place. At Glassdoor you feel like your helping and working towards a common goal of helping employees and would-be employees know whats happening behind the curtain at potential careers, again unfortunately Glassdoor has its own internal problems, bad managers, and integrity issues.

Cons

Leadership has never handled layoffs well, you are constantly fearing for your job and those of your fellow co-workers. Sad because there was so much potential all those years ago I worked there, I’m so happy to be on the other-side, working for a company that truly makes a difference in this world. The same cannot and will not ever be said about Glassdoor.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review of your experience working here at Glassdoor. I completely agree that we have inspiring and motivated people, who are passionate about our mission. I also appreciate your feedback on the areas for improvement and am sorry to hear you felt we could have done better with the recent layoffs. While our decision to reduce our workforce was incredibly difficult, it was necessary for us to sustainably operate the business through what we expect to be a prolonged period of weakness for our industry. Thank you again for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m happy to hear that you’ve landed at a company that feels like the right fit for you and wish you the best in this next chapter. - Christian Sutherland-Wong, Chief Executive Officer
