Pros
This is a review of the automotive group and does not include the professional audio and other divisions. If you are in any of the centre of competencies, the quality of work in development and test tends to be very high. They work with world class customers like BMW and Daimler, Jaguar Land Rover and provide some good work packages.Technically it can be challenging and rewarding, but hold on, read the cons underneath. Dont just jump and apply there.
Cons
This place is nothing but wipro. All service industry minded people who are very cost conscious, but not conscious of anything else, like coding, testing or even common sense. The place is very very politically charged and the senior management is entirely from wipro, including HR and even finance! This makes the culture very toxic and extremely unproductive. These guys are good at making power point presentations and thats about it. No real work gets done at Harman Bangalore automotive division. The 10% of the organisation that is non wipro genuinely contributes or tries to contribute, but the majority always side lines them. In fact if you work, someone will find fault with you. In fact if you are not ex-wipro, you will find it very very difficult to survive there. Period.
