Pros

- Cab Facility - Descent Salary while joining

Cons

- Penny Hikes - High Politics - Platform department is at its destruction - No technical career path. - High manager to developer ratio - Micromanagement is high - Getting more and more into process. I would rather say trying to. - Independent freedom is not present anymore. - HRs are useless. Even exit interviews are not happening anymore - Hiring appears to be for short term. They have no clarity about projects. - Not the best time to join. - This review is specific to Harman international.

Pros

Good hike while joining (because very few people join after interview). Work life balance only in 2-3 projects.

Cons

1: No care for employees. 2: Little or no hike at all 3: No perks and incentives as such 4: Too much deployment projects, less in house projects. 5: Management does not listen to employee's problem, its much worse if you are deployed to some other client. 6: Separation policy is very very pathetic, you will regret why you joined the company on the first place the day you put down paper. 7: Not much to learn, few projects are using latest tech, else old boring outdated coding 8: Promotion is very rare, and only given to boot lickers not to deserving candidates. 9: Useless and incapable managers, HRs.

Pros

Work environment is very pleasant, integrating the good parts of tech culture and automotive culture. Many interesting products to work on spanning many areas including systems, connectivity, cloud, etc. Coworkers generally have a great mixture of intelligence and friendliness. North American offices collaborate well. Tech stack relatively modern for an automotive supplier.

Cons

Company seems to have trouble determining long-term vision. If such a vision exists, it is not made known to employees. Management is very inconsistent in terms of ability. A noticeable amount of management does not think long-term. Politics (not just organizational issues) definitely exist and this seems to be considered "acceptable" by much of management. Many development teams, processes, technologies are silo'ed across the company, especially across continental regions. Quality and (especially) security does not seem to have strong upper management support. There's the old mantra: "Cheap. Fast. Good. Pick 2". Harman has definitely picked the former two.
