Pros
I would say nothing, but that's not entirely true. Learning how to research companies better to avoid sweat-shops is a "Pro" I guess.
Cons
The below cons are in respect to N. FL IT ~To say that the culture of North florida division IT is toxic would be a grotesque understatement. ~ Treated like the gum on the bottom of a shoe and made routinely known how replaceable you are. ~ people being hired into positions (especially of management and directors) due to family ties or friendships of the division CIO, not due to ability or knowledge of role (lack thereof in reality) - amplifying stress on the "grunts" ~ 50, 60, 70 even 80 hour work weeks are common, with no extra pay, or time off ~ pushed to brink of breaking, both mentally and physically, and then pushed more ~ the mighty dollar is far more important to management and directors and CIO of North FL division than the health and wellbeing of the "grunts" they manage. If anything is said, that person is terminated - and the fear every day of losing a job that is needed, even if it is living paycheck to paycheck, especially right now, only adds to the overall stress and reduced quality of life for the "grunts". ~ completely uncaring that many employees have families. ~ ability to staff adequately but choosing to not (again, the almighty dollar) ~ absolute worst-in-class medical insurance. Hundreds of dollars in co-pays even at "in network" facilities. Almost unusable at out of network. And that's all only if the insurance Gods decide to allow physician ordered treatments, test, etc. You constantly have to fight for every little thing.
