Unsafe. Unprofessional. Unrealistic. Staffing a pediatric ER with ONLY 2 nurses and saying "you can make it work". Thats not even enough people to run a proper code. Management who has no experience in the specialty and can't even perform basic nursing duties to help out. IF they even wanted to. It was always an excuse as to why they didn't want to come to work if conditions were impossible. Cancelled the much needed travelers. Threatened backlash if you quit. Promise after promise after promise which was lie after lie after lie. Multiple days with no lunch break. Multiple days with no bathroom break. Multiple days with inappropriate assignments and acuity. One shift...they even had ONE NURSE TO STAFF THE PEDIATRIC ER AND WERE OK WITH IT AND DID NOTHING ABOUT IT AND NOTHING TO HELP! I will NEVER work at a HCA facility again and would recommend no one else does either.

Poor health insurance offerings. Compensation is not competitive. Tenure based promotions, but the most veteran HCA employees tend to be complacent and lazy. Management is often distant and uninvolved. Company behavior is largely amoral as profiteering behavior is rampant throughout the company. Strong emphasis on profits over optimal patient outcomes. Very high employee turnover (to the company's dismay). Is the kind of company to describe employees "like family."
