Pros

Fancy HQ, parking and nice cafeteria

Cons

Senior HR/TA leaders lack emotional intelligence. Culture is not inclusive. You will grow into leadership at HCA if you are a white male. If not, you will waste valuable time working for leaders that do not appreciate you. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are all major concerns here.

Pros

Mission is the improvement of human life Teams are collaborative Large company with locations across the country

Cons

Company always claimed they are a large ship that can sustain any storm, however they reduced salaries during Covid and failed to offer any special accommodations for employees (ie. emergency PTO, flexible hours, reduced expectations). Work load increased and salaries were reduced. All contract resources were eliminated and a hiring freeze was put in place - even if we were backfilling vacant positions. After sending their employees to work from home, it took 4-5 weeks before they even acknowledged resources for mental health support, wellbeing, childcare support etc. It was all about “how do we remain productive?” Before Covid I also struggled to find other opportunities within the company. I’ve heard many times that leadership hopes this is the employees’ last company, however they make it very difficult for internal candidates to move around. That’s probably the biggest downfall of the culture. Also, they have quite a bit of work to do on inclusivity and diversity. Company is kind of old fashioned in that regard.

Pros

There are absolutely no pros to working for this company. It is terrible all the way around

Cons

This corporation never misses an opportunity to dip into your pockets. I was hired by this corporation 10 months ago for a certain amount of pay. I got it in writing, and they have yet to pay me my agreed upon salary. Stating that the "compensation team" is working on it.
