Pros

Ample opportunities to contribute to the company. Rapid changes keep us motivated. Value driven culture keeps you sane. High level management is really appreciated for the strategic decisions that are being made keeping the values in mind.

Cons

Payment is very conservative. Growth is too slow. Management probably should shift mindset from conventional thinking and provide opportunities/growth to people who are performing rather than to the ones that have been around longer.

Pros

Decent benefits. Opportunity for advancement if you are willing to put in the time and effort. Many varying areas to explore for career opportunities.

Cons

Long hours which are unpaid - even though management 'discourages' it- but work loads are ridiculously unattainable in a regular shift. Management promotes people who are not qualified to do jobs over those who are because they play favorites. Constantly looking for ways to outsource work overseas where they can pay a fraction of what a Canadian worker would be paid. Certain areas of the Bank have their processes timed. Including breaks. They say they don't time your bathroom breaks but it's all accounted for in the timing. Managers report to manager's in other countries like Mexico - who try to run the Canadian business like the Mexican model or whatever country they work in. HSBC GROUP thinks that there is a one size fits all model for all countries for the most part and that all employees are just a number.
