Pros

Having a job that doesn't leave you time to have a life

Cons

1. One of the worst companies I have seen. (Been working for over 7 years now) 2. Lowest pay in industry (30% below the next least paid IB job). Add slow growth to it and you are stuck at the bottom of the barrel. 3. Zero work life balance (Your weekend will go down the drain just from a single phone call from your onshore banker) 4. Zero employee benefits 5. The worst culture (You are at the complete mercy of your onshore banker. Even if she makes you work 18 hours a day nobody is going to put up their hand for you.) Managers will tell you to work until you die at your desk just because they don't want to go head to head with the onshore guys. 6. Poor brand value - translates to very limited exit options. 7. Infrastructure - still using 2003 refurbished keyboards to save costs. Broken internet all the time. Truly the worst job an educated person can have.

Pros

Medical benefits, annual leave, worklife balance, global mobility, regional teams is way better than local teams

Cons

Low staff morale, lazy people who don’t take ownership of their work, low internal salaries vs external hires, quantity over quality staff, uninspiring bosses, negative vibes, too bureaucratic, promotes employees who know how to play politics to get in boss’s good books over intelligent productive employees

Pros

It's a job. Food in canteen is cheap. Some nice people work there for awhile....

Cons

Company has a tradition of promoting and encouraging bullies who don't know what they're doing / want. Very many qualified and experienced professionals find it an impossible workplace. Terrible hours. Offices are old and dirty, or ridiculously tight (at / possibly breaking fire code for capacity?) and distracting open concept. Low pay with career progression mostly for "chosen/protected" ones. You can live without them on your CV. Go somewhere else!
