Pros

Positive to one self is stay away from this homicide work culture firm.

Cons

Brand Promise and KPI do not match, it publicises that it is a No revenue Target Organisation, please don't fall for it, it is a hell scam; it is a place of hell to screw ones life, career and mental health, if you want to experience or be part of hell in real word, please join HSBC Singapore-International Wealth Hub, you can leave the world early and you would have already experienced hell in real absolute sense; even if you achieve the numbers, you have the risk of getting ousted and there is none from the local business, HR or Group would come to your rescue, there is no systems in place to safe guard the employee, even if you achieve the numbers; line managers are the king makers, there is no value for employees and there is no value for human life..if you love your life and do not want your mental health to get impacted, stay away from inhuman place, as HSBC Singapore produce one of the lowest revenue in the whole of Singapore among the best clients, hence we would not make money, not learn, not grow and we get frustrated, humiliated, cannot understand the systems well and move out soon, just not worth giving any nano milli second of our life or career to HSBC Singapore; it impacts our mental health, physical health and our mental health of our families and extended families too. as an employee, we would not be heard and we cannot expect any support culture, just suppression, incivility, toxicity, ultra poor in clear communications and create fear in the name so called No revenue target organisation. Brand Promise is there for clients and not for the employees. it is not a pro business place and the Head of Scorecard himself, calls this place as confused bank, please stay away from this place, if you value your lives, it is just not worth a try, please try some other place, don't come closer to this place, I write with an experience of working in 5different countries and 5different banks.

Pros

Enough holidays in a year (~25) Certain people at the top (such as Ravi) are very good Chance to work on newer technology as bank is shifting from old to new ATM Most developers are dedicated and talented, it's mainly the management that's terrible

Cons

Low salary and low perks compared to all its peers (DB, citi, barclays, etc.) If your friends work there you WILL feel bad when you compare. Terrible management - mark my words, i cannot emphasize this point enough. I am not talking of the very senior management but team leads/project leads/etc. who report to the top brass, and especially the non technical employees like analysts teaching developers about tech. Horrible HR, it was dreadful dealing with them whenever i had to. On weekends the business bay building in Pune stinks of urine. The lifts are too slow and work on some crazy algorithm. I had to climb 9 floors of stairs almost everyday. Compass mess is overpriced and low quality. They don't take your complaints seriously until you resign after which they make big promises which are LIES, to keep me there at a critical time. They might lie to you in their interviews, ensure to take down the benefits promised in writing especially if you are a fresher. They treat Indians like a bunch of chumps, for example scheduling calls after 6pm in India or at night to suit their timings in UK. Even if you are talented, you may be dumped in mainframe, production support, etc. There is no way to leave unless you finish 1 year and apply for IJP but that's 1 year of your life wasted and you cannot mention your experience outside

Pros

Hikes better than service based organisations

Cons

Managers are promoted just due to their number of experience with minimal skills Employees are forced to sit on desk and managers are not open to allow the team to learn new skills saying it is irrelevant for the project. Constant monitoring of on desk hours as they have sapient tool installed on every system. WFH is there in policy but manager will never allow to take it mostly. Managers do not have managerial skills and will say my team my rules in the meeting. They feel as if employees are working for him and not HSBC. Hire and fire policy in HSBC.
