Pros

Good pay and benefits for employees

Cons

Management (my department) was very biased. I was not regularized because, as per management, my performance was not on their level. Although I and my other teammates had equal results with our KPIs, they showed me that mine was very low. I admit that I was not the best in my team, but I knew my capabilities. They made me feel, during the termination process, that I wasn't doing my job well, and that I was dumb. They did not even try to help me improve. They simply gave me a notice that I wasn't going to be regularized and that was it. My TL did not even allow us to do OT even if it was obvious that we were having a hard time balancing the work she was giving us. She would give us lots of tasks, which was okay. But what was not okay was that she did not initiate any helping hand. Our manager even told me, during my last week in Henkel that "I was just unlucky with who my team lead" was. At least for me, it seemed like I was not the problem at all but really, my TL just did not like me. I even know people who were regularized but did not even meet their target KPIs during their probationary period yet I, who is part of the LGBTQ+ community, was not regularized. I also know employees who are already in their 5th year or more who still don't know how to properly process or do their work, yet they are still in Henkel. During my last day, I found out that my TL was saying hurtful words about me to one of my teammates, saying stuff like "For someone who's a girl, why would she also date a girl". Henkel promotes diversity and equality, yet has employees like this, team leads like this that discriminate against their team members. This affected my mental health, and I am having a hard time still trying to get back on my feet. Although I am relieved that I am already not part of that team, I am still disappointed and hurt because of what happened to me and I hope that this does not happen to any Henkel employee or even anybody.

Pros

Average pay, and the people you work with are very nice people. Good 401K options with 8% matching, potential for good end of year bonuses, and stock sharing options. Can have some flexible working hours. A good amount of career growth potential, and they are accepting of you trying different business segments (i.e. sales, manufacturing, supply chain, etc.). Henkel is very good at hitting it's targets for share holders, so the stock option you can buy into will really make you some money.

Cons

Henkel is a company who is very tight on money, and is very political from the top down. This turns into major lack of resoucing (people) and puts too much work on everybody's plate. This burns people out, and can create an environment where nothing actually gets done. Too many generals (managers) and not enough soldiers (independent contributors). Way too many procedures and red tape to go through to actually do something. Germany has to approve much of what happens, which makes everything a slow process. Low raises and overworked leads to high turnover.
