Pros

A lot of job prospects, fields to explore. If you secure a hybrid role, and are lucky to not get a micromanager, its a great job to have.

Cons

My experience has only been in quite toxic work environments, its good until it isn't.

Pros

Will set you up with great skills to progress. Will expose you to the operational side of politics. Lots of opportunities to trial new roles. Amazing pension.

Cons

Pay is substantially lower than private sector counterparts. Recruitment is flawed so lots of people in important jobs, are not competent. Lots of change, never any stability.
