Pros

Opportunity to work from home

Cons

Working at Hopper was an incredibly disheartening experience that I wouldn't wish upon anyone. From the moment I joined the company, it became evident that ethical practices and employee well-being were not a priority. First and foremost, the company's approach to business was unethical. Hopper consistently put profits above everything else, including the welfare of its customers. The pressure to meet unrealistic targets and push questionable products on unsuspecting users was relentless. It seemed like Hopper was more interested in making a quick buck than in providing a genuinely valuable service. Moreover, the company's leadership displayed an alarming level of ego and arrogance. Communication was top-down, with executives rarely bothering to listen to the concerns or ideas of their subordinates. Dissenting voices were quickly shut down, and there was an overall lack of respect for differing opinions. It felt like the management team saw themselves as infallible and refused to acknowledge their mistakes. The product itself was a major letdown. Despite the hype surrounding Hopper's services, the reality fell far short of expectations. The platform was riddled with bugs and technical issues, which were often brushed aside or downplayed by management. It was frustrating to see the company prioritize flashy marketing campaigns over addressing the glaring flaws in the product. Hopper seemed more interested in attracting new customers than in delivering a reliable and user-friendly experience. Perhaps the most disappointing aspect of working at Hopper was the complete lack of loyalty to its employees. Layoffs were a regular occurrence, and the company had no qualms about letting go of dedicated team members at a moment's notice. There was no sense of job security, and the constant fear of being shown the door created a toxic and stressful work environment. Hopper's disregard for its employees' well-being was evident, as the company failed to provide adequate support or professional growth opportunities. Given my experience, I strongly advise against considering a job at Hopper. The company's unethical practices, egotistical leadership, subpar product, and lack of loyalty to employees make it a profoundly disappointing and unsatisfying place to work. Save yourself the frustration and heartache—look elsewhere for employment opportunities.

Pros

Overall, my experience as an employee at Hopper has been far from satisfactory. The laughable equity program, the lack of originality in policies, the questionable product offerings, and the arrogant leadership have left me disillusioned. I would caution anyone considering a career at Hopper to carefully evaluate their priorities and ambitions before joining a company that seems more interested in cost-cutting and imitation than in fostering a thriving and innovative work environment..

Cons

As a current employee at Hopper, I feel compelled to share my disappointments and frustrations regarding the company. While there are a few positives, such as the option to work from home (WFH), the cons heavily outweigh any benefits I have experienced. One of the major drawbacks of working at Hopper is the joke of an equity program. Despite promises of potential financial gains, employees are only allowed to vest a measly 3% of their vested shares. This lack of equity distribution significantly diminishes the incentives for employees to stay with the company and work towards its success. It seems that Hopper is more interested in hoarding the majority of the equity for themselves rather than rewarding their hardworking employees. Furthermore, it is disheartening to discover that Hopper's policies are essentially copied and pasted from Amazon. Originality and independent thinking are vital in the tech industry, yet Hopper seems content with mimicking the practices of a larger competitor. This lack of innovation raises concerns about the company's ability to stand out in a highly competitive market. Perhaps the most troubling aspect of Hopper is its major product, Price Freeze, which is nothing more than a scam. AI language model, such as ChatGPT, could easily replace this supposedly groundbreaking feature. It is disheartening to work for a company that relies on deceptive tactics to lure customers, rather than providing genuinely valuable and innovative solutions. Note : There are several pending lawsuits about this product

Pros

With the exception of management, the people.

Cons

Working at Hopper turned out to be a truly disappointing and frustrating experience. From the moment I joined the company, it became evident that the promises made during the hiring process did not align with the reality of the workplace. Here are some of the reasons why my time at Hopper was far from satisfying: Poor Work-Life Balance: Hopper claims to promote a healthy work-life balance, but in reality, it seemed like an empty promise. The workload was consistently overwhelming, leaving me with little time for personal life or self-care. The company's expectations were often unrealistic, leading to burnout and constant stress. Lack of Communication: Communication within the company was abysmal. Important information was not effectively disseminated, and it often felt like teams were working in silos. The lack of clear communication channels hindered collaboration and made it difficult to align on goals and objectives. Toxic Work Environment: The work environment at Hopper was toxic and demoralizing. The company culture seemed to prioritize competitiveness over cooperation. Rather than fostering a supportive atmosphere, there was a pervasive sense of cutthroat competition, which negatively affected teamwork and overall morale. Inadequate Management: The management at Hopper left much to be desired. There was a clear lack of leadership and direction, which resulted in confusion and a lack of clarity on priorities. Feedback and guidance were scarce, making it challenging to grow professionally or feel valued as an employee. Limited Growth Opportunities: Despite promises of growth and advancement, it was evident that Hopper did not prioritize the development of its employees. Opportunities for career progression were minimal, and the company seemed more focused on short-term goals rather than investing in the long-term success of its workforce. Compensation and Benefits: The compensation and benefits package at Hopper were underwhelming, considering the demands and expectations placed on employees. It was disappointing to see that the company did not adequately recognize and reward the hard work and dedication of its staff. In conclusion, my experience at Hopper was far from positive. The combination of poor work-life balance, ineffective communication, a toxic work environment, inadequate management, limited growth opportunities, and subpar compensation made it a regrettable choice for employment. I would caution others considering working at Hopper to carefully evaluate their options and weigh the potential negatives before making a decision.
