better to avoid if you can

Pros

A good place for fresh starters to get some working experience with a proof for practice inside a multinational company.

Cons

A quite weak management; most of them just follow the superior orders and amplify the pressure inside teams. They do not believe or consider the effort of the own people. Some managers are sociopaths, and the organization cannot clean inside. There is a high level of corruption by cronyism, with an unhealthy and toxic relationship environment drive by a forced work system and an imposed appraisal performance methodology that's covering the conduct inefficiency with fake data reporting & extra-work hours of employee working. It is one of the most rude and disrespectfully medium toward people private life and opinion.

Management could be better

Pros

When times are good bonuses are good.

Cons

No career path. There's heavy dependency on China so if you don't speak Mandarin it can be tough. Management was not really involved in day to day activities. Usually just acted as a people manager instead of a team manager therefore interaction was usually during performance reviews.

Pros

The people - Chinese and Western alike all have a very can-do attitude - you probably won't like it if you want to come somewhere to coast. The people in almost all cases are great. The recruitment process - in my case it broke and took 7 months HOWEVER Huawei made a massive effort to stay in contact with me directly rather than through the recruiter. When processes break you find out about a company and what it is really like and that was a major selling point The nature of what we do - exciting and enabling. Feel proud to be helping the Uk economy at a time it needs it and also to be in a role where I am safeguarding the UK and Huawei's interests.

Cons

Occasionally I feel as though we could do things more effectively - but the sheer energy, intellect and enthusiasm of people in this company blows that away! Like all big companies there is a certain amount of HQ bureaucracy (it is 170,000 people after all). To be successful you need to be open to new cultural norms.

Thank you for taking time to leave a review. We recognise the nature of our culture can be challenging and we are continually looking at ways to address this. This year we are launching more on-site training to look at cross cultural leadership, understanding the businesses core values within the local environment and enhancing management and leadership skills.
