Pros

Attractive salary, belonging to the UNJSPF, compensation of up to 5 days/semester for time worked in excess, living in Vienna

Cons

Rotation policy, extremely incompetent management, micromanagement, bullying and moral harrasmment, bad habits are perpetuated, lack of accountability, extreme bureaucracy, merit is not recognized, competence is punished instead of being recognized and valued (and because of that there is no chance for progression), influence is key in carreer progression, not merit. Mediocracy is the norm, excellence is the exception.

Pros

You will be surrounded by people with enormous experience in the field - and in all, even very specific and narrow areas. If you're proactive and smart enough you could learn a lot and push forward a lot of initiatives: there will always be somebody able to give you high-quality advice.

Cons

No real promotion system - not a career organization. This is especially a problem for young staff. Rotation policy - after 7 years you're obliged to leave.
