Pros

It is a very stable environment to work, and if you don't like doing what you like odds are pretty good that you can switch to another division in IBM fairly easily. There are a large number of interesting projects going on at any given time, and it's nice to be able to say you work at IBM.

Cons

Management is completely unaware of what is required to produce quality products, at least in my division of IBM. There is a general lack of respect and concern for the products, and it is obvious that many of the managers are only concerned with their careers without any regard to anything or anyone else.

Pros

You are provided with everything you need to do your job well. There are a lot of smart people at IBM to learn from.

Cons

No work/life balance whatsoever in my position. Burnout happens very fast. The level of competition within IBM is very unhealthy. You need to put in 300% and have no life outside of work to get ahead.
