Pros

The staff are dedicated to, and interested in, their work. Staff enjoy working in teams, so long as team successes are recognised. Management actually care about their staff, but seem constrained in what they can do to reward good work. The work is technically challenging, and staff have plenty of freedom in how they achieve their business goals.

Cons

Salaries are below average for the vast majority of technical staff. Bureaucracy is often painful, for project work as well as financial approvals. Multiple levels of management approval are often required for travel, even local travel for as little as £20! All too frequently, individuals rather than teams are recognised.
