Pros
More successes than failures and more smiles than cries. Great career opportunities, skills and experience acquired at IBM prepared me well for life after IBM. Always remember that satisfaction and success with any company is up to the individual. I retired from IBM with no regrets. I actually thanked my manager when I was told that I was impacted by the resource action. I left with no anger towards the company. It was a great run!
Cons
IBM is slow to react to changes in the industry. Lack of vision or strategy. For years, the answer to improve the bottom line was to reduce cost. Too many layers of management has destroyed the creativity and vision that once made IBM a great company that was the envy on the I/T industry and business community in general.
