IBM used to be a good place to work
Pros
- Good work/life balance (of course depending on your organization and role) - Good people - Good vacation
Cons
- Pay is below competitors - Benefits are no longer competitive (there is no longer any 401k match, health care costs for a family of 5 ends up being around $12,000-$14,000 per year out of pocket, no other significant 'benefits') - Management told to rate people arbitrarily as low performers based on how many people need to be fired - Constant fear of resource actions, performance improvement plans, changes to benefits, increased workloads, random major changes to process without input from stakeholders. Everything is pushing towards decreased productivity and market competitiveness - Senior leadership is not good and has been frequently violating our own business conduct guidelines in recent all-hands meetings
