Pros

A powerful brand, strength in pockets, strong marketing. Able to keep Wall Street happy despite flat or negative growth over 20 quarters.

Cons

Poor delivery, lacks leadership vision, career wrecking managers, CYA culture. Big ambitions with no plans. GBS Australia puppeteered from Singapore. Poor leadership. no plans for new hires. You are expected to perform with no support. Most IBMers are sellers with conflicting KPIs unable to serve customer interests. GBS in Australia is a haunted place, most good people have left, no delivery capabilities or value proposition for customers or employees.

Pros

I learned a lot, which will help me with future jobs.

Cons

Where to start. I honestly can't decide what was worse, the projects or the people. The project I worked on was miserable, and every single person on the team wanted to leave (and many eventually did, even the manager, who told us she really didn't want to be here anymore). And then there was the people. What do you get when you mix inexperience with over confidence? You guessed it! An IBMer. Every single day I had to sit across from a coworker who continually bragged about his accolades and achievements, meanwhile doing absolutely nothing. Unfortunately, this guy was not an anomaly at IBM Design. During Design Bootcamp, there was so much immaturity among the new hires that some designers flat out REFUSED to work with each other, and therefore had to be separated (kind of like in Kindergarten when one kid steals the other's crayon). One girl even started crying when another girl critiqued her wireframe "too harshly" and went and told on her to a design lead. I wish I was joking. I would sit back and watch all this happen, completely floored by the fact that people like this had passed the culture fit part of the interview.

Pros

My salary was higher than the market paid in my area. When telecommuting was allowed, that was a huge perk for me.

Cons

Offshoring positions at any cost (including when comparable talent could not be found) might be good for the stock price, but it is tearing the company apart. Ginni told President Trump IBM could not find talent in our country-- what an outright lie.
