Pros

Great entry level training. Solid reputation in the technology industry. Over 100 year old company so it has some stability based on longevity. You have the opportunity to work with some smart, innovative people. Compensation is ok and when you add benefits, they are competitive with the market. They do not pay at the top or bottom.

Cons

Has lost some of it's focus on the people and not as invested in training management on strong people skills as well as good functional skills. If you get a manager with both functional and people skills, you will enjoy your job. If not, they seem slow to move poor managers out which affects the whole team.

Pros

Great team work, friendly atmosphere, lots of training, the company keeps motivating employees by paying great commissions, job rotations or growth. The company provides lots of benefits to their employees as well. Nothing is impossible to achieve but may take more time comparing to other smaller companies. There is absolutely no discrimination based on race, colour, religion etc...one of the staff was fired for making some small racist comments although I don't remember the details. And women are encouraged to apply for high positions in the company.

Cons

IBM politics, too much processes and approvals but this is almost in all big companies

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. Given IBM's transformation and what we've heard from many IBMers, we’ve kicked off a brand new approach to performance management for 2016 and beyond. It's called Checkpoint, and it was co-created by IBMers for IBMers to reflect the way all of us work. What's the focus? Continuous feedback; a nimble, real-time approach to setting goals; and year-end evaluation on not just what we accomplished but how we accomplished it. And, perhaps best of all, we're no longer defined by a single rating.
