Pros

IBM brand name and policies but I guess you can not enjoy them much anyway if you are joining IBM GBS or CIC

Cons

I have recently joined in IBM by ignoring better offers from other companies just because of its brand value and just after a month or less I started regretting my decision deeply. I am having almost 6 years of experience in considerably trending technologies and frameworks in web application development and I was interviewed on the same as I mentioned in my resume. Finally when I joined IBM GBS, I got pulled into a project that works on old and completely different technologies and framework with respect to my experience. I also had to compromise with the project account, its infrastructure, timings and poor work life balance. I never expected that I will have such a bad experience with IBM. I already informed to my manager that I am not happy with the project a couple of times but I got no help. If I adopt myself to my current project my experience will not have any meaning. So I am not able to get interest. If you have motivation you can start any work but if you are not having interest in it, you simply cannot continue. My suggestion, know the project thoroughly before you are pulled into it.

Pros

Innovation. Smart colleagues. Opportunity for advancement. Great brand name. Ability to work with many clients to solve real world problems which for better or worse, if often less glamorous than the recruiting brochure.

Cons

Heavy red tape. Cut throat. Must manage your own career. Need to find your tribe otherwise the machine will chew you up. Very short term / quarterly focus. Aggressive sales culture, at the cost of developing long term client relationships. Senior management rotates regularly , reinforcing short term results versus building sustainable businesses.

Pros

is too flexible that have open space for accepting that some people takes advantage of it and simply does not work

Cons

- leaders and managers only work for upper leaders - managers are not prepared and majority not even presence - half of the teams are specialized in their roles, half are not - so only its a mess. It causes many unnecessary discussions and the team environment is usually heavy - It is very hard to do the right and correct thing - people are only nominated by colleagues and friends - Many managers are charlatan and dot not share the real specialists credits - Diversity and inclusion is fake fake fake - I've had my work and ideas presented by white male as his many times when me - Latin women and a female Chinese co-worker made it al from scratch. - very common to get my manager calling me as his words " so he could take notes on what he would present on the next day" and he would sound specialist - also many co workers are just not meant for their role
