Pros

IBM had a good name years ago, one of the top innovators. If one focuses on learning there is a lot of potential to learn many aspects of the business. There is potential to excel in one's job if you keep your focus.

Cons

Too big so that some managers are apparently either not competent and not trained to bring out the best in themselves and others. It appears innovation is not rewarded enough. Not just technological innovation, but innovation in how to run a business in order to make the truly company indespensible because customers will always expect the best, next great thing.

Pros

Big company with many different opportunities to expand your skill set. Still a lot of high quality people in the organization, especially our technical resources. Benefits are decent, not great. IBM will spend time educating new comers to the business, while so many others don't.

Cons

Big company with lots of internal paperwork, we are slow moving (still). The selling skils of our client teams has diminshed greatly over the past twenty years as we have failed to keep our salaries competitive with the industry. You won't make a great income, and you will be ground into the ground

Pros

Great company to start out fresh out of college. I started out already being experience and settled down but I wish I would have started at IBM right out of college just for the fact that traveling consultants are very well taken care of. IBM allows you to travel home or else where every weekend which is great if you do not have to travel home every weekend, giving you the option to travel somewhere different every weekend.

Cons

Big company easy to get lost. If you are not a self promoter you can easily get past over for promotions or great projects to work on. Some people don’t like the large company which some times weeds out the good employees that are working and don’t have the time to self promote. I have seen a lot of great workers lost because they are not pushing them selves to be promoted.
