      Pros

      I enjoyed my time at IBM. Good employer over all, reorgs were a constant but generally they did seek employee input.

      Cons

      Big company bueracracy is the name of the game.

      Pros

      Flexibility and open culture to everyone. It pays better than many of domestic companies. And work hours are not too much.

      Cons

      While it pays better than many domestic companies do, the salary is not a lot compared to other foreign companies. And the work is not much fun.

      - Starting salary and bonus is very competitive - Smart people - Great communications capabilities - Great client pipeline for potential work - Great collateral and intellectual capital - Stable and consistent company - Mostly great partners and senior practitioners with development of practitioners in mind

      Cons

      - Compensation increases for performance and promotions is very low compared to other strategy firms - Strategy of IBM GBS for the use of the Strategy practice in business development and services opportunities is poor - Development opportunities on real strategy related projects are minimal - Community feel and more localized projects (at least regional to home towns) is very poor - Incentives for partners to push and develop S&C projects and people is very poor - Silo'd nature of GBS and the strategy practice itself does not lend to a wide array of opportunities and limits effectiveness with clients - Lack of quality recognition in forms other than verbal is poor - All of the above has led to a decline in morale and ability to attract top talent from schools and other firms
