Great benefits, awkward teams

Pros

Benefits are wonderful. Lots of job security once you're in and doing well. They keep you till your old. Pay is pretty competitive. Team leaders are brilliant people.

Cons

Extremely bureaucratic and political. You work with some developers who aren't the sharpest at their game, but surprisingly no one gets let go. Some code so slowly or use outdated tools it's amazing anything ends up working. Products ship with many deferred defects because some developers can't get their work done.

Big company, with possibility to work on different projects and areas based on interest. Lots of resources for learning, collaborating on different projects/technologies, etc.

Cons

Big company, strategy spread slowly and some projects seems to have a hard time identifying all stakeholders. Also, there are too many meetings, that sometimes get into the way of getting things done.

Pros

It gives you flexible work timings. Has work from home facilities which is useful to catch you in the night 1:00 AM. Has good management system in place to track progress of projects.

Cons

Lot of discrepancy in pay structure with in the same band. Progression in IBM very much depends on Senior Management. Some of the accounts are very huge and not much opportunity for Onsite.
