Pros

Athletics, working remotely, it pays money

Cons

Lack of security, management, pay, lack of reasonable raises (the kind that keeps up with inflation at the very least), layoffs, working more for the share holder and less for the company, CEO that makes too much

Pros

The opportunity to work for such a global company. IBM sets the pace in many technology sectors. Skills learned here are in high demand outside of IBM. As a software engineer got to work on latest and greatest web technologies and got a job really quickly after leaving IBM. I was able to rotate around to different software brands building a good portfolio of knowledge of software offerings. From development to application software.

Cons

the BIG in Big Blue. Sometimes feel kind of distant. Most of HR is taken care in a central place, e.g Raleigh, NC. Also most people are very good at what they do making promotions kind of hard to attain.
