Aa a software engineer, it is requested to support the all of the client from all of the continent. If you want to have such influence to the world, IBM is great, and gives you such opportunity through product, and its service.

Cons

Sometime there are top-down based direction of course, but it's not sustainable for the team. I would hope there should be perspective which is fair to the team even if they are located in high-cost country such as US, Japan, etc

IBM culture must be one of the best in the world when it comes to contributor well being. Culture of Respect regardless who you are and what are your preferences. Decent amenities. Lots of projects, meaning you can change jobs without changing company.

Cons

Pay is a little below what other companies of same size pay. Salaries are locked in ranges, and you can't skip a range when getting a promotion, which means there is a hard cap on how much you can grow in salary per year.
