      dynamic environment, learning opportunities, senior management, chane management on a very high level, professional attitude towards employees

      the location where I work is a shared service center so the services provided here predominantly are low value added, as the organisation is flat, growth opportunities are limited

      Pros

      The workforce is diverse, and energetic. The workload is heavy, so it keeps you busy. There a lot of knowledgeable colleagues, and the global aspect of ING provides a lot of opportunity to go beyond NY. In recent years, they are really motivated in employee development and short-term assignment in head office, but in NY it is just starting to take off. There are a lot of new initiatives being undertaking, and so it is an exciting time to become a part of an evolving business.

      Cons

      Could be a frustrating place to work in, as there is a lot of unnecessary red tape around processes. Decisions are top/down, with little opportunity for knowledgeable input or consensus. While benefits are very generous, with approx. twenty percent less than market rate, pay is dismal (but severances are generous); generally a bigger salary disparity between client facing and non-client facing areas compared with competitors. Bonus and raises are laughable. Seriously understaffed, resulting in increased workload.
