Pros

Work with very smart people with integrity. High quality work. Great clients. Flexible work/life balance - doesn't really matter when/where you work as long as you get the work done.

Cons

The company really only cares about maximizing value for shareholders. For example, the CEO made 38 million last year, whereas they didn't even give a cost of living increase to the staff so in relative terms everyone else got a pay cut. Even when teams exceed targets this is not reflected in bonus'/payrises/rewards.

Great people, very poor leadership

Pros

The Seattle office, where the majority of IMS Health's software development occurs, has some of the best, smartest, and most enjoyable people to work with in the industry. Work-life balance in the Seattle office is great. Also, there's a pension.

Cons

The CEO has a completely hands-off leadership style, to the point where people seriously question whether or not he actually exists. This lack of leadership trickles down to the VP and Director levels, resulting in a complete vacuum in terms of direction. The executive team has no idea how to run a software company, and as a result there has been significant turnover. They have completely squandered the most talented team I've ever worked with. As a reward for his lack of competent leadership, the CEO receives a $20M annual bonus, while the soldiers on the ground receive a pittance. Annual merit increases--when they happen--do not even cover inflation, let alone cost of living increases. There is no employee stock purchase program or stock grant/option program. It feels like the company went public solely for the purpose of lining the pockets of Ari and his friends. As a result, employees feel zero ownership and have little incentive to make the company great. It is nearly impossible to be fired for poor work. Several dishonest people don't even bother to show up to the office, and do the barest minimum of work, but still manage to stay employed. For those of us who work hard and come into the office every day, this is very discouraging. Investor calls focus heavily on EBITDA rather than useful metrics, which is a huge red flag.

Pros

IQVIA looks good on a resume for when you inevitably leave.

Cons

-Absolutely no work-life balance, be prepared to work 65 hour weeks of high stress work with peaks up to 80 hours. -This is not consulting, it's a market research firm vailed as strategy. -Moving up the ladder at IQVIA is completely political. -The consulting practice is completely understaffed, but principals continue to sell work with no real plans to remedy this issue. -Upper management is completely uninterested in the work after they sell, so don't expect any collaboration or meaningful knowledge transfer. -Project managers are rude, self-absorbed, play favorites, and couldn't care less how much work they put on your plate, or if that work is even necessary to the project. -Turnover is higher than I could have ever imagined. The consulting practice is around 500 employees and 6-8 people leave each month, with maybe 1-2 new hires coming in each month. Despite this, as mentioned above, seniors continue to sell work driving up hours and reducing the quality of the work.
